WAR OFFICE TO SEE PEACE FILM

"Controversial," Says Censor

London, Apr. 8.

A controversy is likely to rage round the withholding by the Film Censor of a certificate to show a three-minute film appealing to the peoples of Great Britain and the world to act together and ensure peace by reason.

The publishers have been notified that "exception has been taken by the examiners," and that the Cen- sor regards the film as being "con- troversial." He declares his taten- tion of submitting it to the 'War Office.

There was a private show as the Crown Theatre, Wardour Street, London, last night, when the film

was seen by Mr. H. G. Wells,

from the preceding film in that it takes the star from the field of drama into that of comedy Mr. Arliss has several tlines before proved his versatility by stepping from one medium to another and considers it one the reasons for his continued popularity.

Supporting him in this United Artists release are such artists as Edna May Oliver, Janet Beecher. Charlotte Henry of "Alice In Wonderland" fame. Ralph Morgan Edward Ell's. Frank Albertson. Rafaels Ottiano, Donald Meek and Joseph Cawthorn.
