THREE WORLD'S RECORDS

The world's largest mould has been made in Sheffle.1 and de- livered by means of the world's largest motor lorry. It is requir ed for the moulding at ingots weighing over 200 tons." The making of, the mould necessitated the use of over 164 tons of mol ten metal.

Also, there was recently turneQ out in Sheffield, for a ship's tur- bine, the largest gear wheel rims ever made.

Note. The makers of the mould were the Brightside Foundry & Engineering Co, to the order of the English Etce Corporation. The latter firm made the gear wheel rims for a turbine being constructed by Cammell Laird & Co. for the Ellerman Line. They were forged under the 7,000 tons electro hydraulic forging press re cently erected at the Corpora tion's, Vickers Works.
