An official of the company stat- ed yesterday that the only berths now available for the second trip are third class. There are already applications for the third many voyage on July 1.

The liner was full for the first Journey some time ago, but many people. Including some who booked cancel have had to a year ago, their berths. They cannot passe them on to friends, as the com- pany arranged to allocate any cancellations to some of the many people who were unable to obtain

(BY LONGSHOREMAN). During the 24 hours ended at 9.00 am. yesterday, the freight returns, received from the Har. bour Office show a moderate ton- nage movement.

The total tonnage of general cargo carried by vessels to the Colony was 3,107 tons. with British: steamers carrying 1,411 tons.

QUEEN MARY'S TWO CAPTAINS Capt. George Gibbons, who has been appointed additional captain of the liner Queen Mary, paid a Arst visit to his new ship yester- day. "She's beautiful," he said to me afterwards..."

The Queen Mary will be the first uner to sail with two full captains. The chief commander is 3r Edgar Britten, commodore of the Cunard- White Star fleet, Capt, Gibbons witi share in the responsibility for the liner's navigation

"The appointment of Capt. Gib- bons is unprecedented," a Cunard- White Star director said last night. "but the Queen Mary is an un- precedented ship."

Capt. Gibbons has arrived in Glasgow to assist. Sir Edgar Britten in preliminary work before the Queen Mary leaves the Clyde.

"

We are going to be busy during the next five weeks," said Captain Cibbons. "Bir Edgar and I will be working eight or nine hours every day until the Queen Mary leaves for Scuthampton.

"We shall be working on board the ship as well as in the Cunard- Organisation White Star offices. of routine is one of the main points that have to be dealt with."
