MACARONI IN H.M. SUPREME COURT
British Factory Sued For Damages
Shanghal Jan. 23. Macaroni, and its close relatives, spaghettl and vermicelli, occupied. the attention of H. M. Supreme Court the whole of yesterday, when Mr. A. V. Velnerman brought a claim for $7,767,48 damages against Captain O. Basham, proprietor of the Ideal Macaroni Factory, for an Mr. K alleged breach of contract.
E Newman appeared for the plain- tiff, and Mr. M. B. Brown for the defendant. Amongst the interest- ing points brought out during the course of the thearing was the fact that the average distributor of ma- caroni in Shanghat could count on an average sale of 10,000 lb. per month.
