London. Shortly expected in Murmansk is one of the largest refrigerated steamers in the world, the Pishchevaya Industria, put chased by the Commissariat Foreign Trade of the U.S.S.R. from a British ashing Concern.
Completely repaired and recon- ditioned, this. 10,000-ton steamer is said to be unique in her tech- nical equipment. She is
to be used as a floating base for Soviet fishing boats in northern waters, which will transfer their catch to the steamer for salting.
The refrigerating spaces of the vessel, of 4,000 tons capacity, have been completely reconstructed. and the machinery has been re- modelled.
