Evening noods on evening wraps are mostly of Italian in Auence, though a cloak of black velvet with an ermine-ined hood has been described as "Esquí mau." Nearly all the full-length cape cloaks are of velvet or taffeta lined velvet. A Venetian cloak of black velvet has had a short mask vel attached to the hood. Mrs. Moody-Heddle is at present extremely busy rehearsing and get- ting things together for the Big Fashion Parade, which is to take place on Monday, November 19.

An elaborate dinner “ensemble" tailored in heavy satin, and ith full length skirt and, á blouse in lamé or pleated chiffon makes a contrast to the cick- tall dress which retains. its skirt-about- 12in. from the ground. Dance frocks now have no trains, and are distinct : from formal evening dresses. Some of them have long sashes to give length and foat ng ends; sich draberies can be neatly looped over the arm during dancing. Crystal and Enife pleating is frequent; ' panels o pleating are shown in skirts or soft lames and velvets; fan-shaped pleats give: width to a pink and silver tamé skirt; and fine box pleats on wollen cloths give a swing to the back of short daytime box coats.

Restraint and simplicity in treatment and beauty of colour- ing distinguish these fabrics. A raised surface satin, with silver grey swans and amall Dolated circles, posed on a pale prunus shade is indicative of the Chin- ese trend in winter home decora tion. Flames are adapted: to decorative pattern in- another furnishing jatin in pale fáme and grey tones. Smoke and reds are other inspirations for designs.
