NATIONAL GOVERNMENT
ACHIEVEMENTS
Stability And Confidence Stressed
London, October 28.
The National Government manifesto signed by Mr. Stanley Baldwin, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald and Sir John Simon, compre- hensively reviews Government policy since its advent to power and outlines broad measures for maintenance of the internation- al position and development of domestic needs.
The manifesto says that the broad issue is whether the stubi- Ilty and confidence which the National Government have buil up are to be preferred in a period of special dificulty and an- xiety: Gaps in the defences must be repaired.
The manifesto dwelt with the improved conditions in the domestic field through a series of legislative measures and de- clared that the advent of a Socialist Government, pledged to a number of revolutionary measures, the ultimate result of which cannot be clearly foreseen, will inevitably be followed by collapse of confidence-Reuter..
