On paper the soldiers are con- sidered slightly the better of the two teams. In Rowlands
they
have an absolutely rellable man as cus odian while Keneghan in the pivotal position will be a tower of
rength. Their forward line is capable of big things especially Sullivan who has shown that he is capable of getting goals. Hughes and Robers on the respec- tive wings are also sources of danger which the College will co well to guard.

Football last week had 1 s stare as well as disappoint- of turills ment. The Recreto-St. Joseph's
soccer en march was provided thusiasts with the former, and it was a game in which both de fences stood out well. "Although the gume ended in a draw the spec- tators were treated to some good football and the result was a very fair indication of the run of play.
The Club-Kowloon match was disappointing in more ways than one. R.A. (5) did not provide much opposition to the Fusiliers. They
wen
down by three clear goals. The Fusiliers are at presen, play- ing better football than a season ago and their display against he Gunners last Saturday augurs well for the current season.
The other Gunners' team (1) was also no match for the Police. Stevens for the Police was in the limelight in this match, doing much good work. The Gunners were lucky to get away with a four-goa defici:.
- THIS WEEK'S GAMES
A game which should be weli worth the trouble of seeing to-day
is tha, between East Lancs. and the Police. Both teams play the sam: heavy type of football.
The Police defence is sound without being brilliant whereas the soldiers are a well-balanced team. In the forward line Eas Lancs have several dangerous men and their combination is. I am sure, above the Police who very ofven play ragged football due to the lack of cohes.on. The game -should end in a draw.
Recreio's match against the R.A. (S) should provide the Portu- gues: Club with the maximum number of points. With the in- clusion of the Gosano bro.hers and Bel.ruo they will have their full tram.out. Their defence is a very trustworthy one and with R. Maz- -ques.be.ween the sticks they will
have very little to worry about.
Their forwards, although on the light side, are a fast and once they get going are hard to stop.
The soldiers are not very im pressive. They lack the under- standing and ability which are so essential in first division football.
Kowloon should just about get away with the points from the R.A. (L). Their display last week against the Club showed that they are capable of big things if they start about it in the right direc- tion. They should concentrat more on V. White who showed that besides possessing a good turu of speed he has the knock of being able to distribu'e ke a good general. Kowloon's defence. too, is sound but there are cer- táin defects which have to be re medied. They should jus: about get away with it.
NAVY'S DEBUT
Royal Navy are making their debut this week. I cannot as yet gauge their strength what with the movements of the boats. Juding from the vessels now in port I believe they will be able to get up ek good enough to give the inh. a close run for the points.

Norman Mackay, the Kowloon stumper, would make an admirable understudy to Dunkler (touch wood) If any unforseen incident should crop up to prevent the lat- ter from "keeping." In addition. Mackay is a good bat and showed us two weeks ago that the 9: charges levelled against him belonging to the "sticky" type t batamon, are unfounded,
Of course we yearn for a bowl. er. after the style of R.E.O. Bird. but Minu is a good substitute. Re- garding the rest of the team. they have all shown us their worth, and it is my contention that if the above team is flelded against Donald Leach and his merry men,
