Blame The Silly Times. We Live in
EXTRACTS FROM A MAIL BAG
(BY NO QUARTER)
If my touch is more ponderous than usual, you must blame it on the weather, which hangs upon me like a frowsty old lodging-house keeper. Or you may, if you like to, blame it on the silly times we live in, and the madmen who range over the more public features" of, the world's uninteresting face.
It is curious that there does not seem to be in any country a man who is politically prominent, and who is not either mad, or stupid. (Cries of shame from Mrs. Ruglinson and the Hon. Herbert Slough). "

Besides, the Hunting is soon going to start, and I am busy geting ready for it. The lash of my hunting crop has been used to keep the waste pipe of the geyser in position, and we drink soup out of my bowler hat. My "leggings have been eaten by the hounds during the summer, while the Amah has enten my horse? It is vexing, and at the homent I am perplexed as to how I shall surmount the many difficulties which beset me. However, we are a hunting family, (my grandfather was master of the London, Brighton, and South Coast Bassett Hounds), and the social stigma of giving up The Game is too much for me to face.
