NEW STREAMLINE EXPRESS
London, Sept. 23. The new streamline express, Silver Jubliee, which the London and North Eastern Railway are putting into service between Lon- don and Newcastle, next Monday. underwent trials to-day, in which the engine maintained a speed of over 100 miles an hour over "six miles down falling grades, the maximum speed" recorded being a fraction over 101 miles an hour.
On the reverse run, the, engine reached the summit at 72 miles an hour.- British Wireless.
