The troops sent north were armed mainly French rifles and have only a few machine guns and anti-air- craft guns according to the report, which declares that the troop equipment is entirely laadequate and primitive.
The message on the other hand praises the morale of the troops, who are said to have marched away singing despite a heavy downpour of rain, not showing the slightest fatigue, al- „ though the majority had made a forced march for several days. The troops were expected to take up the positions assigned to them within seventeen days.
Reports from Northern Abyssinia state that the Italians within the last few weeks have pushed forward theor advance guards, while the Abyssinian tribes there have been with- drawing to the province of Oguden and to British Somaliland. « -Transocean Kuo Min.
