The amount of business done was therefore of small proportions. Banks Have been done at $1.020/1,025. ·Hum phreys after a long period of stag- nation have come to business at $3 with further buyers at the same rate. Lights, Watsons and Dairies were enquired for at $8.80, $3.10 and $13,70 respectively.

Silver prices dropped 1/2 yes- terday for both denveries, the quotations being 32 3/18 for Ready and 32 7/18 for Forward. The drop was attributed to India and China having sold. America and speculators bought at the decline. After the official fixing America was reported to have bought 1/8 over the quoted rates.

In America: the rate was lower at 72 for Spot.

The London/New York cross- rate was quoted at 493) and the New York/London rate was the same.

There were sellers after the opening at 2/4 1/16, buyera bid- ding 2/4 3/16 resulting in business at 2/4 3/16 for July delivery. Sub- sequently offers at 2/4 1/16 were accepted for near, followed by transactions at 2/41 July, 2/4 June, 2/4 July and 2/4 Aug- ust, 2/37 10x July ада
