A LOST LADY

A gloried Barbara Stanwyck, resplendant in the latest costume designs of Studio Modistes. is scheduled to be "seen at the Alhambra Theatre on Friday in the First National production of "A Lost Lady" said to be the most dynamic drama in which the popu- lar star has yet appeared.

The picture opens with a dire tragedy in which the young girl's lover is shot down at her feet on the very eve of their wedding by the husband of a woman With Whom he had been triding.

Miss Stanwyck has four leading men in

the picture. The first. studa by a buliet, is the handsome Phillip Reed, recently, from the Broadway stage. The second is Frank Morgan in the role of a great corporation lawyer. who marries her, without asking for love content with her trust and friendship.

The young wife is immune to the ardent advances by the lawyer's youthful partner, a part played by Lyle Talbot, but becomes madly! Infatuated with Ricardo Cortez in' the role of a dashing lover who therally drops at her feet from the sky in a damaged airplane,

Ronald Calman's choice for 'the screen's most improved young sc tress is Loretta Young. That is why Loretta has the leading tem- inine role in the biggest picture of Colman's career. "Clive of India," Darryl F. Zanuck's first million-dollar production for 20th Century Pictures, showing Saturday at the King's Theatre.

Several years ago, when she was first attracting notice, Loretta played an ingenue role in Colman's starring picture, "Devil to Pay?" But Loretta, then seventeen, was more interested in parties and dancing at the Cocoanut Grove than in the serious side of screen acting.
