Another Performance
Last Night
In response to the numerous re quests from the Chinese commun- ty, the dragons which took part in the recent processions in connec tion with the Silver Jubilee, gave another of their wonderful displays at
the South China Football ground at Caroline Hili last night. Although charges were made for admission, there was a large crowdi present. Each of the dragons was manipulated by some forty men, and their twirling movements which went to show the "behavi- our" of such monsters were per- formed in such a realistic manher that it is no exaggeration to say

Your Excellencies, Lady Peel, Ladles and Gentlemen:----
The ceremony which we are about to witness marks a new. epoch in the history of Medicine in this Colony. For many years I has been obvious that the old Government Civil Hospital would need to be replaced by a modern Hospital, but the greatest dimculty Iwas to find a suitable site.
How this site was overlooked for so long I do, not know, for it is ́an almost ideni situation for å hos- pital. It is below the fog belt and will get the fresh sea breezes and plenty of sunshine and possesses a fine outlook over the sea.
To one, who like myself, has been connected with the present Government Civil Hospital for over 90 years, the change to these sur roundings, seems almost too good to be true.
