Sliver prices in London on Sa- turday was quoted at 33 9/18 for Ready and 334 for Forward, a rise of 3/16 on the last quotations. Speculative transactions were re- ported on both sides of the mar- ket which closed steady. There was no quotation from London yesterday due to the Jubilee holi- day. The American prices was. slightly higher yesterday at 731...

Sterling opened in New York yesterday af 4.84 and closed high- er at 4.85.

The absence of silver news from London, and the early closing in Shanghai to-day gave our market a dull tone. Business was unim- portact. The feeling at the open- Ing was steady but a slight de- mand eased the market to some extent.
