against which an increase of Salaries has been caused by the creation of the Office of Emigration Officer at a salary of £200 per annum, and increase of £6. 58. Od. to the pay of the Shroff has been estimated for. The proposed increase to the pay of the Police force is £1,618. 188. Od., making the Total increase under Salaries £1,825. 38, and leaving the Nett amount of savings under that head £1,370 178. Od.
REMARKS,-continued.
The difference between the actual Expenditure for Public Works during 1853, and the amount estimated for 1855, is on account of the Governmeunt House,-the expense for which had been provided for in previous Estimates.
