SENIOR DIVISION

In a game that was somewhat tame, Navy beat S. China "B", the Senior Shield champions, by the odd goal in three yesterday.

Navy enjoyed. the greater part of the game and at the change aver S. China, was leading by one, much against the run of the play Slow to part with their shots and playing the individual game, Navy presented rather a puzzle to the Chinese defence.

From the start S. China swept the Navy of their feet and follow ing slow end to end play Yau Wal Hing sent over to Yeung Pun Hon, who after eluding two sent in a weak shot to put the Chinese ahead. Play had been in progress for five minutes.

players

Navy returned to the attack but Foor En shes deprived them of all success. A four against Tang Heung Far saw Moss taking the pot kick but Wong Wai Ki effect ed a smart clearance.

NAVY EQUALISE "Changing over with the slender lead of one goal South China were hard pressed to keep the lead and the defence was beginning to weaken under the continual pres- sure of the Navy forwards.

First Cannell then Rose missed in quick succession and "Baxter's shot was well cleared by Wong. Baxter was sending in some ac- curate centres and following one of which Rose received and direct- ing a well placed shot was inter- cepted by Cannell who beat Wong with a hard left drive to put the 'Navy on equal terms. The lead was soon forthcoming. Harrassed for the greater part of this stanza the Chinese defence was hard put to keep the Navy forwards away Hand Cannel obtained the second goal when he headed beautifully past Wong from a pass by Barter.

The closing stages saw the Chinese more determined than ever and several dangerous raids were made on the Navy citadel in one of which they missed an al- most open goal. Play brightened up then and, first one side then the other was called upon ip, re- pulse the attacks. Chances were missed by both sides and the whis- tle found play transferred to mid- field
