Fight For Runners-Up Place
(BY PIVOT")
Now that the excitement for all major soccer, sömpetitions hava subsided with the final of the International Cup, chief in«. *terest is centred around the runners-up position in the Senior League which is a very open affair with the Club; Recrolo, Police and Athletic going neck to neck for that position,
Glab is clashing with the Police to-day and the Athletic with Recreio to-morrow. Both games are bound to produce football of a high standard and the results will have a very strong bear- ing on the running.
Police, on their present form naturally stands favourite and I am inclined to believe that they will have very little dimenity In disposing of Glub, whó I must admit are not as impressive às formerly.
Recreio and the Athletic should provide about the best football of the week-end. The Portuguese boys are quite capable of taking care of the Athletic but on the other hand ir Chu Ah Fai and Chen Chen Wo | are to make the trip to the Colony. a different complexion would be put into the gaine with the odds about even and a grand game should be seen. Whatever the out- come, which incidentally will have also a strong bearing on the league. this match is worth going a long way to see,

From the start spence never got really going. He broke down over comparatively simple shots; and Prenn varied his own tactics so well, and produced such powerful driving and volleying, that he was always well on top in the fist set, which he won at l.
The second set was rather a bez ter fight. But after losing an early lead Spence nover looked like winning it. He got one MOTU game, but that was mainly owing to Prenn losing control completely (p) for awhile. Prenn's main asset was his service, with which, either his fast one, or his "Kicker," he won many aces outright, besides always keeping Spence on the de- fensive.
