Returns To Life
Shanghai. April 19. This is the well-authenticated story of one who came back to life.
It concerns a lowly Kompe family of hawkers named " Wang living in a straw-huta Ferry Road. Three years ago a male child was born to this family, but at the beginning of this month the baby became with pneumonia. He sink rapidly and the terrided parents called in a native doctor. Despite the doctor's ministrations, the baby died on April 10 and a certificate of death was issued by the physician. The grief-stricken family at once set about arrang- ing for his funeral

In previous schemes the amount of retired pay has been influenced by the service element. An officer aged 40 can retire on £300 a year (standard rate) provided he has completed 17 years service; he is allowed an extra £15 a year for each full year's additional service. up to a maximum of five years or he is subject to a deduction of £15 a year for each full year wanting to complete the period specified. Similarly, under the scheme whereby aucers under 40 were allowed to retire on the non- service scale, there was provision. for them to retire on 165 a year (standard rate), with an addition of E7 10s: year for each of the First six complete years and ir 10s. a year for each complete year subsequent thereto.
