ROWLANDS CONCEDES
PENALTY
BUT SAVES WELL
A large gathering of football fans was treated to two solid hours of delightful football yesterday when the team represent- ing the H. K. F. A beat the team chosen by the C. A. A. F by the odd goal in three, in, the Final of the Governor's Cup Competition alter extra time had to be played.
-Despite the fact that they monopolished the play for the first 90 minutes, the Chinese could make no headway and it was only in the last five minutes of the game that, they equalised. Two minutes later they were awarded a penalty for a fool against Rowlandı Tam took the kick but Rowlands made splan- did amends by saving the "certainty:" A feature of the game was the spectacular gaol keeping of Rowlands and the fine de fensive work of A. V. Gosano. These two players literally stood between goal and the Chinese attack,
On Saturday South China "B" defeated the Police in the Senior Shield encounter and were full value for their win. Phy- ing better footbal) than the Policemen they gave the defence a harrowing time,
In the Junior Shield final Sappers won much against the run of the play after being two goals in arrears at one period.

For the Association Rowlands, A. V. Gosano and Moss played well They were the mainstay of the Association's defence and time and again either one or the other was instrumental in effecting a clever safe or clearance. Row lands in particular was well to the fore, his picking up of the ball "from the players' feet" being a feature.
