WEEK-END FOOTBALL

Pardoe Leaving By Somersetshire

Hong Kong will soon be missing several well-known Army players by the departure of the Troopship Somersetshire, the most noticeable of whom is Gunner Pardoe of the Artillery and the Colony's pivot and Interport Capitalt. Pardce will be sadly missed particularly by the Army. He has been playing good football for the last two or three years and h's recent Interport display amply justfles the opinion that he is one of for the best, if not the best, centre half Hong Kong has seen quite some time. I am sure that all Hong Kong footbal followers will wish Pardoe the best of luck in his new sphere and that he with enjoy many more years of the game he plays so well.

The chief attention during the week end will be centred in the Senior Shield the between S, China "A" and the Club on the Caroline Hili to-day.

There Was comparatively small attendance, and owing to the poor condition of the ground. the standard of play served by the visitors was not up to that expect ed. The ground was slippery and rendered foothold dimeult and as a result the visitors, were unable to produce their best form. Chinese Derby

S. China "B" are playing the China Athletic in a League game at the Sookunpoo ground and are also down to meet in the semi Bnal of te Senior Shield

The game to-day will be typical of the Chinese play. It should be fast and exciting. China Athle- tic have been gradually forging ahead in the last few matches and Chen and if Chau Ah Fal Chen Wo will be able to make the trip down from Canton the Athle- tic's prospects will be enhanced very much,

The

Joseph's Kowloon St. match on the mainland will be a very even affair: Both teams are well served by some Army players

been but have not

figuring so well of late. Kowloon is a shade better than the College team and ought to be able to gather the two points.

Another semi finalist team, In the Police, will be seen in action against the Lincolns. It seems the guardians of the law have dropped off in form. If they want to keep their stocks up it's up to them to show that they are really a semi finalist team. Lin- colns ought to be able to make "them work, The types of play
