TRAINING GALLOPS

Fast Work by Australian Candidates

(BY MORNING DEW")

There were comparatively few gallops on Saturday morning,

but as owners were trying out their ponies on Thursday, and a few on Friday, the times of those gallops have been included below.

:

It will be seen that Derby Day, one of this season's Austrā- Hans, went over a mile and a quarter in very convincing time, finishing on the bit in 29.2 seconds. Goldsmith and Halcyon 'also registered convincing times.

Harvest View covered a fast mile, but finished poorly. Herod once again moved convincingly, while Soldier of Honour went over a mile, finishing a little better than on Wednesday.

The times taken on Thursday and on Saturday were as follows:---
