The Jackson-Everett Prize for 1934, offered annually to the officer passing the best final examination when qualifying as a signal special. ist, has been awarded to Lieuten ant the Hon. D. C. Cairns, R.N., of HMS. Nelson. Lieutenant Cairns passed out of Dartmouth in July. 1926.

Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant Charles, RN, of HMS Devon- shire, has been awarded the Gedge Memorial Medal and Prize for 1934 on passing the best examination. for that rank. He entered the Frebus as a paymaster cadet in
