December 8. The market maintained its firm ness during the week under re- view and several countries were marked up higher with the vo lume of business was on a mode- rate scale. Investment counters were again firmer with Hongkong Lands improving to $534. Hong- kong Trams, to $20.25, and Star- Ferries to 3972. Horïgkong Elec- trics were enquired for at $70 after sales at this rate. Telephones (old) improved slightly with tran- sactions done at $23.50/75, the new shares being in demand at 39.75. Dairy Farms rallied to a buying rate of $23.75 after business done at $23.00. Wharves remained un- changed with enquiries at $108. Among the minor issues China Lights (old) were again a specta- cular
changed feature, having hands at rising prices from $0.60 to $9,80, closing firm at the latter figure. Hotels remained in demand at $490, with sales effected at $4.95.
