WEEK-END CRICKET
H.K.C.C. Beat Navy: I.R.C. And Civil Service Draw
Four League matches were played during the week-end, two In the Senior Division and two in the Second Division. In the Senior Division, the Hong Kong Cricket Club defeated the Navy by 17 wickets after the latter alde had amassed the big score of 174 runs to declare for 5 wickets. The slow but accurate bowling of G. R. Sayers was chiefly the cause of the Civil Service snatch- ing a point from the Indians whom they entertained at 'Happy Valley.
The two Junior Division games which were played between the Indian Recreation Club and the Civil Service at Sookunpoo, and the Navy and the Club at King's Park resulted in wins for the Indians and the Navy respectively.
Only two batsmen reached double figure, R. H. Griffith scored 30, and G. R. Sayer hit up twelve. Arculli bowled well to take 2 wickets for 1 ruh in his 5 overs in course of which he had four maidens
