A WINTER'S TALE

Three Centuries Ago SHAKESPEARE praised the Virtues of

SHERRY

TO-DAY, no matter where you go or what the occasion, you find people drinking Sherry, a revival of the sensible habit which existed in our grandfather's time, when the Sherry decanter stood always ready on the sideboard

Then, before lunch, you are offered Sherry instead of the now demode Cocktail... And, of course, the Cocktail parties are now Sherry parties

Sherry is undoubtedly the fashion.. able drink of This Age, and rightly so, for its clean, nutty flavour is the perfect appetiser. It is economical in use unlike most wines, Sherry does not deteriorate after opening.

But choose the right Sherry... Winter's Tale speaks for itself.

A Library had been opened, and all those interested in the Movement were invited to take out books. A com- bined Rally of Guides and Scouts would be held next year, in honour of King George's twenty-fifth Accession, on Wednesday, May 8th, or on the 15th if wet then; it was' hoped that all friends would make a note of these dates. Before finally adopting the Report Mrs. Grist asked that one omission might be rectified, and proposed a very loving vote of gratitude to the Colony Commissioner, Lady Southern.

Lady Southor said:-

I have only a few words to say to-day. First of all Lady Peel has asked me to express her regret at' being unable to attend to-day's meeting, owing to a pressure of engagements. We are all very sorry not to have her with us, but we fully realise how very busy she is just how. We were delighted to welcome her

to last Saturday's Rally and greatly appreciated her coming all the way from Fanling to attend it. We all appreciate His Excellency and Lady Peel's kind interest and encouragement in Guide work.

(To the Editor," Hong Kong Daily Prem")

The following advices which are just to band from our London Principals will, no doubt, be of general interest:-

"So much has been written in the newspapers recently about the question of speed on the long dis- tance air routes that a large num ber of people have gained, the firm Impression that the Imperial Mall services take at least twice as long as foreign national services to reach a common destination. This belief is so widespread that I find even some of my own stain are be- coming imbued with the same ideas and it is, therefore, advisable to. draw general attention to compara- tive timings of the three air ser- vices to the East. The days are taken from the current BRAD- SHAW'S AIR GUIDE.
