"Dress Regulations Army" now published after interval of 23 years, do rot sanc- tion any drastic changes in dress There is
no mention of "deers- talkers," "shorts" and other novel items of dress for which the dress reform party claim special hygienic qualities.
The Army Council has not yet announced its decision on the ex- perimental "working dress."
There is retained one type of headdress which has been doomed 3.5 museum exbibit
for many years, and for which an apology is offered. It refers to the spiked helmet for full dress in certain regiments and corps. This is about the most uncomfortable and cumbrous headdress ever invented, but a substitute has not yet been agreed upon,
Here is the official apology: "The patterns of full dress head- dress authorized in Dress Regula- tions, 1911. för those regimen's and corps which are authorized in these reguls.tlons to wear the cloth helmet, will continue to be worn until a decision has been reached on the new pattern which is stil under consideration."
¦
The shako is worn by the High- land Light Infantry and the Cameronians. A type of shako was the headdress generally worn by Infantry battalions years ago. The question of adopting it as a substitute for the spiked helmet has been considered, but" na 'de- cision has been reached. Since the helmet is only used on cere- monial occasions when full dress is worn, the delay is not a serious

The full dress of the Royal Corps of Signals is now included the
"Dress Regulations" for first time. This Corps has been given the busby made of black lynx or other suitable fur aod a scarlet plume. For foreign ser- white Wolseley vice the
helmet, with white pagri, will be worn in- stead of the busby. The Corps badge is the figure of Mercury.
The Royal Tank Corp full dress, headdress is a black beret, with a Elt and silver badge, and a flash of horsehair in Corp colours.
The Army Dental Corps and the Army Edcuational Corps have, the Home pattern helmet. The Den- 15tal Corps helmet has a ball in a leaf cup substituted for the spike.

S.E. Levy & Co.'s Cables
The following cables were re- ceived last night by Messrs. B. Levy and Co.-
The order of dress "Undress Order" previously authorized in Dress Regulations, 1911
(frock coat, etc.), is now applicable only to general officers, brigadieïs, sub- stantive colonels, officers of the Household Cavalry and Foot Guards, Directors of Music, and officers holding personal appoint- ments to the King and members of the Royal Family
In all other cases the, "undress" formerly prescribed (frock cat, etc.), is abolished and a new order of "undress" approved. The order dress referred to, formerly as
