TRAINING GALLOPS
Good Performances By St. Leger Candidates
(BY MORNING DEW")
All the five Australian candidates for the Freemantle St. Loger were galloped yesterday, and Able Amazon,.by her splendid, run over a mile, has confirmed her position as favourite for Satur- day's big race. Bay Tor was impressive over a malic, as was Mutiny Bay. Racing Heart was only sent over half a mile, and High Finance also went for only a short sprint.
In the griffin's class, Macaroni and Gladiator, Brilliant Star... Electric Star, King's Warden and Ribble were seen in action. King's Warden was the most convincing performer of that lot.
A good number of the subscription griffins were also tried out, but no very fast times were recorded.
Brechin, King's Fancy, Racing Boy, Iron Grey and Monoplane were among the others which impressed.
The times taken yesterday were as follows:-- Soldier of Britain

The gaps left by these illustrious personalities would alone make the new season a significant one. But there are other considerations. First is the fact that the Cam-
