"THE GLORIOUS DEAD"

Hong Kong Observes Armistice Day

As in former years; Hong Kong observed Armistice Day with the time-honoured ceremony at the Cenotaph. In spite of the adverse weather conditions there was quite a large gathering pre- sent to share the solemnity of the occasion,

Men, not only from the various British Army, Navy and Air Force units, but also from "foreten warships in Harbour took part in the ceremony."

Only a solitary wreath appenred at the Cenotaph before the "Silence." but after the ceremony the foot of the Cenotaph was covered with a blazing profusion of wreaths, in which the blood red poppies prevailed.

Armistice Day services were held in the various churches in the Colony, while on Saturday the sale of Poppies" in the streets of the Colony, was "conducted by the ladies,
