The second day's racing of the Eighth Extra Meeting of the Jockey Club, proved once again to be a favourites' day, but there was a sufficient element of sur prise to make the sport interesting-Jungle Jim and National Day being responsible for two good dividends.
In the Double Tenth Plate, Trentbridge, as predicted, won from Diana Bay and Sadko, in record titne. In the Handicap race for the best griffins of this season, Soldier of Britain won easily from Gladiator, with Electric Star a disappointing third. The time was not particularly fast.
Mr. N. Deitz, the leading jockey, came into his own again riding three win ners, two seconds and a third. He was never unplaced during the afternoon.
