Detalls are given in the current issue of the "Erown Gazette" of the equipment which is being sup- plied by Messrs. S. G. Brown, Ltd, or the Compagnie General Trans- atlantique's 79,000-ton turbo-elec- trio liner Normandie, which is now fitting out at St. Nazaire.

The ship will have two дуго compasses, one being of French design and manufacture, and the other a Brown instrument similar to those installed in the Ile de France, Lafayette, Champlain, De Grasse and many other ships of the C.G.T. The Brown gyro compass will take control and steer the ship through a Brown automatic helms-

man.

The details of the Brown gyro equipment are as follow:-In the gyro.compass-room will be install- ed a type "A" master compat together with motor generator and switchboard.

Further Evidence Of Improvement

London, Oct. 5 Further evidence of improving trade conditions in Britain is found in the weekly returns of the Bank of England.

Towards the close the tone was easier and the selling rate receded again to 151 for near and 35 15/16 for forward.
