An inmate of the Po Leung Kok had a parrow escape from death yesterday afternoon as a result of trying to effect an escape from the Institute via the roof.

Shortly after 3 o'clock yesterday' afternoon a shriek was heard in the compound of the Institute and an immediate search revealed In Liu, female aged 19, lying doubled up as a result of a fall from the roof....

She was removed to the Govern- ment Civil Hospital in an am- bulance and was later found to have sustained serious abrasions and a fractured thigh.
