Fujikura Shows A New Stroke
C!
The Japanese Davis Cuppers, Yamagishi, Nishimura and 'Fuji- kura who arrived in the Colony yesterday morning by the N.X.X. liner Terukun Marn, were seen in exhibition lawn tennis matches at the Kowloon Cricket Club yesterday afternoon when a very large gathering of tennis fans were present.
The standard of tennis displayed was not as good as that cl Nunof and Jiro Satoh in the exhibition tennis games played at the Hong Kong Cricket Club at the beginning of-1833.
Yamagishi was exally the best of the Japanese trio, his execution being perfect while his volleying and kalf volleying was superb throughout.
Nishimura was also very good, displaying a dangerous back- hand while his killing at the net left nothing to be desired.
Fujikura, the youngest member of the trio played a very steady game throughout and exhibited for the first time in the Colony the double-handed back-hand smash, which is one of Vivian McGrath's-Australian Davis Cupper-most famous strokes.

KOWLOON
The last match of the day was two sets of doubles in which Yamagish and Nishimurs were opposed to H. D. and 8. A. Rum- jaha.
The first set saw several exciting volleying duels between H. D. Rumjshi and Yamagishi, the Japanese Davis Cupper coming off best as a result of terrific speed and wonderful placing,
The
Japanese led by three games to nil when 3. A. Rumjahn came into the picture with" some excellent drives which invariably found their mark, taking the game with a superb drive down the centre of the court, passing both the Japanese players.
Thereafter the Rumjahn cousins were seen on their true form and many of the games went to dence before they were won
The Japanese players made fine recoveries and as a result took the first set at 6-2.

In the second set the Rumjahns surprisingly led the Japanese pair at 2 games to 1 when the latter took a love game during S. 4. Rumjahn's service game,
