Empress of Canada Leaves, To-day
The Canadian Pacific liner s.s. Empress of Canada, which arrived in port yesterday from Vancouver. and Victoria leaves to-day for Hongkong and Manila. She will sall from Pootung, Shanghai and Hongkew Wharf, at 11.30 am, the last passenger tender from the Custom's Jetty leaves at 10 a.m. to-day.
Speed Boat Collides With Buoy It was learnt yesterday that one of the speed boata of Baron J. Empain's steam yacht Hellspolis collided with one of the river buoys. Since no report had been received by any of the river au- thorities it is assumed that no damage was done. The Hello- polis. left Shanghal on Monday afternoon on her homeward cruise.

Examination of British Naval
Buoy The British naval sloop HMS Folkestone left the British naval buoys for Holt's Wharf yesterday so that an examination might be made of one of the buoys, which was fouled recently by the 8.8. Tungstent. All the naval buoys were deserted yesterday, giving an empty look to the river. All that was to be seen were three Whang- poo.
