We have not lately heard any- thing about the Regatta Club, One of the objections to this kind of sport'in Hong Kong has always; 'been that the expanse of the "bay is too great; the water is conse- quently not only too rough, generally speaking, but the rac boats appear contemplibly dimin- utive and all illusion of a struggle for speed is destroyed. We happen to know that for the success of pulling races, narrow water is essential, and i our. aquatic amateurs will consider for a few minutes they must arrive at the conclusion that even in England no good pulling races are seen at places which are situated on broad waters.
