The announcement of a $2 special General sentiment was somewhat dividend by Atchison Common and improved to-day. Business done: the Increase in the quarterly US 620,000 shares Smelting dividend to $2 helped the market at the close. It appeared as if metals, sugars and tobaccos might lead any further rally.
Wheat:-Nervous. The local market is following the Kansas City market. Later, the market was firm, despite large receipts in the South-West. The Winnipeg market was firm early in the day. I but closed easy in sympathy with the Chicago market. The standard or grades of Chicago wheat changes on July 2 On and after that date, old or new crop wheat must be specified on all orders.
Cotton: Following an opening set-back, there was a good de mand, which was mainly induced by lack of rain in the Western Belt and expectations of a bullish weekly weather report from Texas to-morrow. Approximately 28,000 bales were tendered for July, which is believed to have been taken by very large spot. interests.
Silver:--Observers said that it appeared as though Government purchases of July options were being made at between 45.40 and 1t 45.45. Speculators are buying De- cember options from Banking in- terests.

Cotton-Prices were higher on heavy local and speculative buying throughout the day. Weather con- ditions in Teras are unfavourable. We continue to recommend pur- chases.
