Li Chi, a juicy and sweet fruit grown only in South China, has
good harvest this year and is sold at only 40 cents a catty for the best kind.
Most of this fruit is grown in Lo Kong which is very near here and in Tseng Shing on the East
River Valley. As the price of I Chi is cheap this year, they are exported to other parts of the country especially North China, where it is sold at a fairly high price. What is a common native product here is a luxury there.
