Unce again the weather was responsible for a spoiled race programme. The first race on Saturday was run in brillat sunshine, but during the third race,"heavy rain poured down and lasted a little more than half an hour..
The altered condition of the course was responsible for sever- ál upsets, and favourites were, on the whole, anfortunate.
Mr. A. J. P. Heard, rode five winners during the afternoon and also collected a second and a third place, out of a total of seven appearances on the course.
Racing Boy and Powerfal King were the winners of the Daily Double" event which netted successful punters $281.70 each. Twelve people out of a total of 681 spotted the winner.

The $1 admission charged for the Public Enclosure resulted in a mucn bigger attendance there, and the Farl-mutuel and cash sweeps were, as a result, better patronised.
The Juling Stakes, over which the sig sweep was conducted re- AU sulted in a wonderful race. the pies entered för this event faced the starter and a hundred yards before the end, at least six ponies had a sporting chance of winning. The race fell to Power- hul King who won by a head from Warrington with King's Parade, half a length behind and three more penies within a length of the third. these being Burgomaster. National Day and Racing Triumph, Orlando set a terrific pace at the start. accompanied by Morning

rington early on to the third. Fowerful King was sixth and the favourite. National Day fifteenth! At the six furlongs post, Orlando was in the lead with Morning Sun a length behind," and Warrington. King's Furude. Powerful King and Burgoinaster following in that order.

It took ed as though the race was all over. but Atlas surprised everybody by coming along again after rassing the Distance Post and in a gruell ing finish with Just That managed to win by three quarters of a length. Saucy Face was half a length behind the second.

Full credit must be given to S Y. Liang for his able handling of Bay View in the opening race on the card which attracted seven starters.. Benny Proulx on What A Chance took the lead and tried the *" runaway" act, but the pony was not up to it, and after five furlongs, his mount tired rapidly. The Redshank also ran in front at the start, but only lasted a little more three furlongs when he was all spent. William Osler and Lemberg were well placed all the way round,
