NO SURPRISE RESULTS IN SATURDAY'S BOWLS FIXTURES

Close Race In Junior League

The Kowloon Bowling Green retained their, position at the head of the sénior división of the lawn bowls league by 'defeat- ing the Civil Service. C. C. on Saturday. The results of other senior division matches were very mueli as expected.

In the junior division the Civil Service C. C. lost two ex- tremely valuable points by going under to the Bowling Greed. As a result of this defeat the Folice R. C. and the Indians are. both on the same level with the Civil Servants at the head of the league table.

Chinese Team Beaten

On Saturday, the Hong Kong P.A. Helded a team against the Chinese Olympic team who were so successful 'at "Mandia during the Olymple games. Lee Wal Tong and Fung King Cheong were absent from the Chinese team. The Hong Kong F.A. made four changes from the original team selected, Hili. West, Thompson and Elms turning out in the places of Mullane, Mor- rison. Podmore and Jones.

The Hong Kong FA. took the lead after about 15 minutes play. Malpas rushing the ball into the net from a centre by B. Goesno. The Chinese made several efforts and were unlucky in not levelling up.

Half-time: Hong Kong" FA^ 1, China 0.

Early in the second half, B. Gosano Increased the F.A. lead. Taking the ball on the run from a pass from the left wing, the sent in a fast drive that gave Wong ne chance to clear. Soon after, E Strange put the F.A. three up with a good solo effort, cutting in to beat Wong with a fast cross shot.

Hydrographic Survey To Be Carried Out

The Harbour Master has issued a notice to mariners to the effect that until further notice, a hydro- graphie survey will be carried out within the following area:-

Bounded to the North by Lat

22° 16' 40" North,

Bounded to the South by Lat.

220 14' 50" North

Bounded to the East by Long,

114" 14" 35" East. Bounded' to the North by Long.

.114 13 10" East.

The survey will be conducted in a series of squares, whose sides will run North and South and East and West.

Bides of the square will be 1000 feet.

Sampana with red flags will be stationed at intervals along two of the sides of the square.

Every endeavour will be made to Keep the fairway clear through Lyemun Pass, and as general, but not invariable rule, the deep water outside 10 fathoms contour will be clear of sampans in the square formation:

Shipping is warned to give sam- pans a wide berth and is prohi bited from keeping between sam- pans flying a red flag.

This Notice, supersedes Notice To Marthes No. 37 of 1934.
