The striking success of the Narcotics Bureau's campaign against drug traffickers is revealed in the annual report of Russel Pasha, who is of the opinion that the Narcotic menace which threatened Egypt with destruction five years ago will be removed provided the present energetic measures are continued.
Drug addicts imprisoned at the end of last year were 674, compare ed with six thousand Your years earlier.
It is now extremely difficult to import white drugs such as mor- phine, heroin, and cocaine. The Narcotic's Bureau is concentrating on breaking up gangs who are now compelled to Import more bulky drugs such as hashish and opium. -Reuter.
