WHO WILL BE CHAMPION JOCKEY
the Entries close to-day for Easter Race Meeting to be held on March 31..and April 2, and judging from the number of ponies in training, there is every possibi- lity of the entries reaching as high a figure as at the extra meeting. The programme has been carefully thought out and practically every pony in the Colony has been catered for, so that we should see some big Belds and possibly a few big divid ends, especially if the going is fast. Until the entries are known, however, it will hot be, wise to make any further predictions.

I hear that Mr. Gilbert Har- riman will be riding Sadko and Prima Donna at the forthcoming race meeting. Mr. Harriman's own Sriffin, Zero, is a doubtful starter during the, Easter Meeting, as I em told he needs a rest,
Sadko
is undoubtedly, a good pony. but like every other old pony his career is.. I think, coming to an end, and age is telling against rim. Prima Donna, on the other hand is a very good candidate, and I feel sure that she will plek up a race very soon.

Judging from the number of entries in the race of non-win- ning griffins at Macao on Sun- day, it would seem that those owners who have been unsuccess- fl at the Annual Race Meeting are missing no opportunity to score £ win. I am informed, however that several of the more outstanding, entries: are, not likely to start. With names like Prima Donna, Lemberg, Soldier of Ger many,
Bay View and William. Osler, on the list, it looks as though this race will be worth the trip to Macao. Incidentally the handicapping this time has been done by Mr. C. M. S. Alves.

How long will Brechin remain in the "B" Class. At the Annual Race Meeting, running at weight for inches, the pony accounted for King's Justice, Navy Hall, Flying Tourist ghd The Tiger, all of which are in the Class. On hard going, Brechin will be dif cult to beat and it does not look as though he will remain long with the "B" panies. Electric Star is in the "B" Class and here. Is another one which will be likely to earn promotion,
With so many ponies in the "C" and "D", it is certain that races for these two classes will have to be sub-divided. It is in the "C" Class that we have some of the best racing and any pony which can win promotion quickly from the "C" is indeed good. Racing Pride is here and may be the first to move up. The Jockey Club is conducting a big sweep on the Juling Stakes, and 100,000 tickets be offered for sale at $1 each. I all the tickets are sold (and at si they will surely be all taken up) the first prize will exceed $10,000. It was happy idea that moved them to make a big $1 sweep instead of trying to arrange $10 sweep, I think the result will justify the
