Asia Landa, Limited, has received the following report from their Nwe York correspondenta, E. A. Pierce & Co. The market received support after the first abock of selling, but the recovery in the last hour was not par- ticularly impressive. We think that trading sentiment is growing some- what more discouraged. Washington news continues to be the dominat- ing influence.
Wheat: Thore was renewed May liquidation. Buyers have with- drawn owing to the easier Winnipeg market, and to tempering inflation possibilities over Mr. Morgenthan's opposition to the silver policy.
Cotton: The market opened eader but recovered on the re-assurance that the Bankhead Bill would pass the Senate by tomorrow afternoon. Speculative sentiment was reactionary.
Silver: Prices beld quite steady under support credited to foreign accounts, then turned sharply reactionary under heavy liquidation, following Washington reports that Mr. Morgenthau is opposed to taking any action on silver at present. Later, the pressure abated and a moderate rally occurred, the undertone being still quite unsettled. Business Done: 1,340,000 shares."
