HM.S. Adveni ire, the laying cruiser which has been. commissioned for service with the China-Fleet and which is at tached to the Fifth Cruiser Squadron, arrived in Hong Kong on Saturday evening.

The vessel has a displacement tonnage of 8.740 tons, is 531 feet long, and has a beam of 59 feet and a draught of 14.5 feet.

Her engines which are, or Diesel and steam, developing 40, 000 horse, power, give her a speed was built at of 27 knots. She Devonport and completed in 1927.

Her main armament consists of four 4.7 inch Anti-Aircraft guns, four 3 pounders; four 2 pounders, two machine guns and 8 Lewis guns
