Fresh Taxation

New Delhi, Feb. 27. Fresh taxation for providing a surplus of nineteen lakhs of rupees is included in the Budget intro- duced by Sir George Schuster.

It includes an excise duty on sugar of 21 annas per cwt., a duty on raw tobacco of 38 annus per Ib. in place of the standard 30 annas, a preferential excise duty on matches of 36 annas per gross boxes, and a. reduction f silver duty from seven and half to five annias per ounce.

It abolishes the duty on raw hides-Reuter.
