THE CODEX Telegram To The British Museum

London, Fob. J. The Director of "the British Museum (Sir G. F. Hill) has re- ceived a telegram from the Arch- bishop Porphyrios of Sinai, stating that the monastery of Sini claims! ownership in the Codex Sinaiticus, The manuscript was bought by Britain from the Soviet Govern- ment for £100,000.

It is understood that the Arch, bishop of Sinai will claim some kind of compensation if the British Museum refuses to admit the moa- astery's claim to the Codex.
