All over the world, among every race, and wherever tips are given, White Horse Whisky has won first place. It's a good 'stayer,' too; and in no way a costly invest- ment. It has strength, plentiful stamina, is always in good condition-in every way a perfect thoroughbred.

a hot favourite

White Horse is a good doer; beds down well, especially if given a little hot water and a lump or two of sugar. It is partial to a slice of lemen.

"Dunbar" Candidates Still Outstanding:

"Dynasty" Stands Next

MESSRS. KONG BROS. SHOULD DO WELL

Many of those who have been regularly following form

either from the training times or by occasional visits to the race course will no doubt be glad to know something of the prospects of the different stables at the Race Meeting. The Derby Prospects are discussed in a separate article in this issue and selections for the first day will be found elsewhere. These are tentative selections ...and the final selections will be given on Saturday morning.

Liberty Bay For Champions

Once again the Dunbar stable promises to be at the very head of affairs. With & couple of out- standing ponies like Liberty Bay and Diana Bay, they out to be able to collect half a dozen races in the first four days. Gleneagles too is back on the course and look- ing as it as ever and it will not

be surprising to see him turning up a winner, though in his case he will have some hard nuts to crack in the shape of Trentbridge, Sadko, etc.

In

the matter of Australian ponies, the stable has been unlucky in the past, but this year it looks as if they are..going to make up

QUEEN'S

for lost time. They have drawn an outstanding sprinter in Princess Angeline and may have a good deal to say" in the Australian events, Moreover, Wooland Stag is how also in this stable, and since he is as it as he had ever been, I think the "Dunbar" colours will be prominent in the Australian events.

As regards Derby griffins, they have Chief Seattle and Oak Bay amongst others. These two ponies, while admittedly not so attractive at the moment as some of the others, are nevertheless quite cap- abl of coming in among the placed candidates. Mr. Frost is riding for this stable.**

The "Pearce" String.

Mr. and Mrs. Pearce have the They next best stable, I think. have

in their old ponies class, Trentbridge. Hetman and King's Bounty and between these three they ought to be able to do quite

well. Their Australian bony. Vriday is a nice mover, and al-. though on paper this pony does not compare favourably with some of the others, there is little doubt that he is a good 'un,

Of Derby griffinis In this stable, King's Warden is the most promis ing and although the consensus of opinion the moment is that. King's Warden is unlikely to win. there is no telling what Y. S. Chang can do with his mounts.

The best sub in the stable is King Willow, a pony which, one feels certain, is likely to win some thing at the meeting. King Wil low is better than King Salmon. (Continued on Page 3)
