to and from Paris as Air France, though at the height of the sum- mer season both lines run five passenger planes a day each way, At present the companies, are try- Ing to agree on what proportion of the pool each shall take.
The number of passengers in and out of Croydon in 1932 was 70.182; of these 41.000 travelled by Imperial Airways,

THE EMPEROR OF MANCHUKUO

For it was only recent ly declared by Japanese spoke- men that Tokio regarded all the former Chinese territories north of the Great Wall as part of Man-. chukuo.
Moscow would demur to such a claim, in view of her Mongolian Interests, which abe might feel were more seriously threatened by a Manchukuo Empire than by a smaller autonomous State without an "Imperialistic" rallying sign.

So Sudden
I was the only traveller on the top deck of a tramcar travelling from the Angel to Old-street, Presently the car stopped and i beard heavy steps ascending the stairs as the tram moved on with increasing speed. Suddenly; on
and the burly labourer came went the brakes with great force; hurtling down the centre of the ear, banging against me before he could catch the back of a seat.
When at last he was seated hë turned round and said: "Sorry, guy'nior; they no sooner getcher! at the back before they chuck yer out the blinkin', front."
