The Hanseatic Shipping & Oper ating Co. has been organised at Bremen with a nominal capital of 200,000 marks for the purpose of financing the building of ships and the management of shipping com- panies and similar, activities, The managers of the company are: Dr. Walter Hofman, of Bremen, Coun- cillor of State; Dr. Gustav Schlot- terer, of Hamburg, government director: Dr. J. H. Kulenkampf (Norddeutscher Lloyd); and Herr Otto Krug (Hamburg-Amerika Line). The contract between the members of the company is to con- tinue until the end of 1960, and li quidation of the company before that date can only take place with the sunetice of the German Reich. The principal object of the com- pany is stated to be to finance the replacement of ships which are deemed necessary.
