'PERFECT UNDERSTANDING'

Gloria Swanson Sings

At King's

If Gloria Swanson had accomplished nothing else while making "Perfect Vaderstanding", she could rest upon her laurels for having captured for Rims Sir Nigel Playfair, celebrated London actor manager, who found working with Miss Swanson such a lark that he now announces he may henceforth divide his time between the stage and screen.

Efforts had been made for years to wean Sir Nigel to the screen, but little success has been achieved until Gloria Swanson came along. It was the United Artists star's ambition to cast every charactor in her picture in native surroundings that is, an Englishman must play an English character, an American girl must be cast as such, and woon. And with, this argument she won Sir Nigel to the rule of a crutchety old English nobleman, And he had all sorts of fua playing the part.

The management of the Lee Theatre issued invitations to attend preview of the Paramount's' Pro- ductions, of the "Bed Time Story" starring Maurice Chevalier and. Helen Twelvetrees, with the won- der-child Baby Le Roy. It is Che- valier's latest. and is most amus- ing, the Baby in the picture is a marvel, and we recommend it to all who enjoy a good comedy, The star arrives in Paris and before putting in an appearance at his fiance's bouse, visita several of his old flames, and while he is calling un an elderly couple leaves a baby in his motor car thereby getting him into several embarrassing sit- uations. It is then that the fun begins.

The theatre is large and well ventilated, and the seating accom- madation excellent. The Sound System installed is most satisfac- tory, and we feel sure theatre fans in the neighbourhood of Leighton Hill will hail the opening of this theatre with delight. We have been informed by the Manager Mr. McKenzie that the Grand Opening ber with the United Artists' Super will take place on the 16th Decem- Picture "The Kid From Spain".

This Jesse L. Lasky production for Fox presents Ernest Truex as the diminative male who is dominated by a race of brutish Amazons who find their love where they take it. This is no watery courtship here, no romano. ing of the modern type, for it a of six-luot, women, led by Elissa Land, Marjorie Bembeau and Helene Madison, choose to maid a man's habitat, they descend upon him for the love of it and nothing else.

This is, truly, a blooded comedy, streaked through with atrical shafts aimed at modern woman's idios yncratic imitations of man.

Others in the cast are Helen Ware, Maude Eburne, Claudis Coleman, Ferdinand Gottschalk, John Sheehan and Lionel Belmore.
