A report just issued shows the bulk of this increase occurred through the opeartion of the Im- port Duties Art, Irish Free State Special Duties Act, and the Ottawa Agreements Act. Together these sets of tariff duties produced, an increase in revenue of £25,200,000.

Asia Landa, Limited, has received the following roport form thear New York correspondents, E A. Pierce & Co. Tape evidence strengthens belief in the ability of the market to break through resistance. The up-side is logically the next stopping place and industrials should be the area cover ed by July high levels. The accompanying strength of rails remains an important technical confirmation.

Wheat: The relative strength of stocks started a fairly persistent demand and outside interest broadened on the advance.

Cotton: A small amount of buying, partly from the Continent, tege- ther with limited offerings improved the market. Southern selling was negligible.

Silver: The market opened quiet and irregular. Reports from Washington relative to the Government purchase of a moderate amount of silver spurred speculative demand. Dumping operations are reported "to be forty per cent ahead of those of 1932:

Mr. George Creel indicated that the President has not intention of departing from "sound money", saying that there is no likelihood of infa tion to the extent of unsecured currency.
